As For Me And My House
"And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of [a]the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
Evangelism is the sharing of your faith in Christ, or telling others how your faith in Christ has changed your life. After getting saved, Evangelism (or sharing with people about Jesus), is the most important thing you could do in your life.
The disciples in the book of Acts were driven by their desire to share the gospel. They had something great, and they wanted to tell everyone about how it changed their life, and they weren’t afraid of the consequences.
Joshua 24:15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
You have to say… as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!
As for me... change starts with you, then that change is reciprocated in your kids and grandkids. If you are staying in this house, you will go to church with me on Sunday and Wednesday.
Show your kids that they are important, but Jesus is more important. And you love them so much, that the rule is.. if they come over at church time, they are going to church. Even if they don’t like it… at least they will be hearing the word, and that is more than they are getting just hanging out at the house! If you don’t go to church every time your kids and grandkids stay with you, or if you don’t make them go o church… the devil just won!
Point To Remember: It is your responsibility to train the children that God has given you, in the way that they should go. Training involves teaching (verbal) and showing (action). Action Item: First, make a stand that you will serve the Lord no matter what. That you will be the example of a Godly person to everyone in your household. Then, take a stand, that as for me and my house we WILL serve the Lord. Decide that anyone that lives, stays, or even visits your house on a church day, will go to church. No excuses!
