Do You Make God Led Decisions?
In the midst of closing out his first letter to the church at Corinth, Paul says this in 1 Corinthians 16:9, "For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries."
Many times we base the effectiveness of how well we listen to God, on how easy things are? Have you ever heard someone say something like this: "You wouldn't believe how much God loves me... He gave me a parking spot in the very front of the store, I got in and out without having to talk to anyone, and even the cashier didn't bore me with her problems." Let's take this instance, and let's see what could've been. While the front parking spot is nice to have, there could have been someone else that could've needed it more, like a disabled or elderly person, or even a parent that now has to walk with their energetic kids through a parking lot, where drivers don't always pay attention to what they are doing. While in the store, instead of just looking for what you are shopping for, why not stop and help a confused customer. And you may be saying, but they have people that get paid for that. True, but at the same time I could ask you, if you would like someone to help you when you need it! We all need help sometimes, so why not give it, and show kindness to someone who is need of it! Then the cashier... cashiers are generally overworked and underpaid. They are on their feet for all or most of the day, and sure could use a smiling face and listening ear sometimes. Show them the the light and grace, that Christ showed when He went to the cross and died, even for those who were rejecting Him! Instead of looking to "get in and get out", remember what was said of Jesus in Acts 10:38, that Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the enemy, for God was with Him. God is with us, so be like Jesus, and begin to look to be a blessing wherever you go! - Pastor George Finney
