Get R' Done
Are you ready for Christ's return? If He came back today, can you honestly say that you have been doing everything that Jesus called you to do? Matthew 24:36-51 36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Doing what? Doing what they have been called to do 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, The servant that does not do what his master has called him to do 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
When we stand before God, God’s not gonna say well intentioned my good and faithful servant... your intentions were so good and so in line with me and my will for your life - Thank you so much for intending to help those homeless people - Thank you so for intending to help the church reach their goal of reaching the community - Thank you for intending to do what was right, even though you did wrong - Thank you for intending to help those people that I called you to help We say to ourselves, I intend to do that someday. I’m gonna go out and pray for people as soon as I feel more confident. One day one day I’m gonna get up doing worship and stick my hands up and praise Jesus for all that he’s done in my life. One day, one day one day, but the problem is… for many, one day never comes! Intention, without action, won't make a difference when we stand before God! James 2:15-17 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- True faith will always be accompanied by an action! When we stand before God, God’s not gonna say well planned my good and faithful servant... you planned your life exactly the way I wanted you to have a planned
- What a great job you have done planning what you were going to do.
- What a great job you have done planning to go to love people.
- What a great job you have done planning to go out and talk to people about me.
- What a great job you have done planning to love people, even though you did not When we stand before Him, God will not be giving out A for efforts! The only thing that we true want God to say to us when we stand before Him is, “Well done, My good and faithful servant.” Well Done means what it says… well done, good job, but in that phrase itself there is an assumption of something that is completed… something finished! Well done!!
Well done, good and faithful servant… completing those things that I have given you
Well done, good and faithful servant… doing those things, that you have intended to do
Well done, good and faithful servant… doing those things that you planned to do A good and faithful servant isn’t the one that stands on the sidelines, but instead a good and faithful servant is the one that does. A good and faithful servant is a doer of the word, and not just hearer only.
The statue of David is considered by many to be a masterpiece, and has incredible detail. Three artists sculpted the block of marble down from it’s original form to the image of David, but the one who is most credited with the statue is Michelangelo… no, not the Ninja Turtle, the actually artist. The first two artists didn’t make much progress on the massive slab of marble. And after setting for 26 years, the search for an artist who could complete the massive statue began. Although many artist, including Leonardo da Vinci, were consulted, the 26 year old Michelangelo was chosen to complete the statue. It took him almost 3 years to complete the transformation from the state that he got it in to the 17 foot high masterpiece that it is today. When asked how he was able to carve out the image of David, beginning with a block of marble, Michelangelo said, he saw the image of David in the block of marble and just chipped away everything that wasn’t David. We should take that same mindset into our life in Christ. We need to get so focused on Jesus, so close to Him, so in tune to His desires for our life, and then just chip away everything that doesn’t lineup with that. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:10 that we are God‘s workmanship… 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. God wants to do a work in us, we just need to allow it to be done. We just need to take everything that we see in our lives that doesn’t line up with that image of Jesus, and forcefully bring it under alignment for God’s glory. - Crucify everything in the flesh, that doesn’t line up with Him and His will for our lives Have A Blessed Day!
