Go Therefore
As a Christian, we shouldn’t have to be told to love people, or help people in need; those are natural things that flow will flow out of you, because of your relationship with Christ.
Jesus said, out of your will flow rivers of living water… Jesus told the woman at the well, He was living water… so in order for rivers of living water to flow out of us, we have to put living water in… and that comes through a relationship with Christ! Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Jesus Taught His Disciples First How To Become disciples themselves, then He Told them to Go and Be Disciples, by Going and Making Disciples
As Christians we should follow that same guideline. We should be consumers of the gospel, but at the same time, we should also be contributors to the gospel… both inside and outside the church!
The spiritual unemployment level for a Christian should always be zero.
You should always be consuming more and more of Christ, and at the same time, that should overflow into your life, which causes you to always be contributing to the cause of Christ, both inside and outside the church. You shouldn't have to be told what to do. The mark of a more mature Christian, is not someone who has to always wait on a leading, but someone who sees what needs to be done, and then does it.
In Matthew 7:12, Jesus said, "Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them." Then in Matthew 24:46, He said, "Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing." Doing what? Doing the work of the Lord
Jesus has called and qualified us to continue His work here on the earth, but we can't do that work, without be doers of the Word, and not just hearers only.
