Growing To Love Like Christ

Romans 5:6-8 says, "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Those verses show so much about how much God loved us, and about how we should love. Jesus didn't give His life for us, while we were doing good. Jesus didn't give His life for us, while we were even doing OK. No... Jesus sacrificed His life for us, while were were sinners. While Jesus was giving His life for us there was people spitting on Him and mocking Him, and Jesus gave His life for them too. Even while we were rejecting Him, Jesus gave His life for us. That is the kind of love I want to demonstrate in my life, that even while people are rejecting me and calling me names, that I can sacrifice my life, and show them Good's love and grace. Lord, help me to love people in the same way that Christ loved me, with an unconditional love that so far surpasses what people have seen before, that they know that it has to be from God... in Jesus Name I pray Amen!! - Pastor George Finney
