Radical Evangelism - It Starts With Me
Evangelism, by definition, is the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness. Evangelism is simply, the sharing of your faith in Christ, or telling others how your faith in Christ has changed your life. After getting saved, Evangelism (or sharing with people about how Jesus changed your life), is the most important thing you could do in your life. That last thing that Jesus told His disciples to do in Matthew 28 was to evangelize.
Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
In Acts 1:8, just before Jesus was taken up to heaven, told the disciples to go out and share the gospel.
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
And in Acts 2, the first thing that Peter did after receiving the Holy Spirit, was to evangelize. The disciples in the book of Acts were driven by their desire to share the gospel. They had something great, and they wanted to tell everyone about how it changed their life, and they weren’t afraid of the consequences. In Acts 4, after being arrested, then commanded, by the Sanhedrin, not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus, Peter and John had this response. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” We have to get so in love with Jesus, that we can't help but speak to others about Christ! And the only way that can happen, is through a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ! Have A Blessed Day! Pastor George Finney New Life Church NewLifeKenefick@yahoo.com
