Radical Relationships
In Luke 19:10, Jesus said He came to seek and save that which was lost, so if we are to continue with the work of Christ, as we should be doing, we too are to seek and save those that are lost. The simple way to carry out that mission, is by loving the lost, and by destroying the works of the enemy. That mission of loving the lost, and destroying the works of the enemy starts at home. The message of Christ starts at home. We must first destroy the works of the enemy in our life and in our home, before we can go out and destroy the works of the enemy in the lives of others. Ephesians 5:22-33 22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.
24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
The Greek word submit means: To arrange under, to yield one’s control, A Greek military term meaning "to arrange [troop divisions] in a military fashion under the command of a leader". Your spouse isn’t just someone that can fall in love with because they are pretty, and you think they are awesome. Your family is to be a team of highly skilled spiritual fighters.
Remember, this life that we are living, is not as some people would say, just about surviving the race of life and making it to heaven. This life is not as some people call it a dress rehearsal for heaven. God created you for more…
He created you and your family to be spiritual warriors. To fight individually, to fight together as a family unit, to fight together as a church body, to fight together as a community, and to fight together with fellow Christians throughout the world, to destroy the works, or evidence of the works of the enemy, and thus bringing about God’s Will and Kingdom to earth. With the husband at the lead, praying and strategizing, and the wife helping to implement the plan.
Ephesians 5:25-28
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
The word love is used 5 times in those 4 verses.
It is used twice in Verse 25, and three times in Verse 28
That word love, is the Greek word agapaw, ag-ap-ah’-o, which means to love in a social or moral sense. To welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to be well pleased, to love dearly, and to be content.
Husbands are not just to love their wives, but they are to be content with them. Meaning, husbands are to not feel the need to look elsewhere. But there’s more… husbands are to take the time to show their wives that they love them. Guys… sometimes this will be a choice that you have to make, because as the saying goes… I may love you, but I don’t always like you. Love is not always about feelings, sometimes it’s a choice. Husbands, are to choose to love their wives, no matter what her actions are! You are to love your wives, to include taking them out to dinner, watch sappy movies with them, and even go shopping with them.
John 15:5
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
If you're not connected to the Father, you can not pour the Father out. If you can't, or don't love God, you can't truly love people. As a Christian, everything starts by being connected to the Father. Be connected and help others to do the same!
